Abstract

New Zealand Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research is an international journal advancing the understanding of aquatic systems, with a particular focus on marine, estuarine, and freshwater systems of the Southern Hemisphere. We publish high-quality observational, experimental, theoretical, and numerical research across a wide range of habitats, from lakes, streams, and wetlands to fjords, rocky shores, and the open ocean. While emphasising the unique aquatic ecosystems of the Southern Hemisphere, the journal also welcomes studies from other regions where findings offer broader relevance or comparative insights.
