dc.description.abstractThe Journal of Petroleum Geology (JPG) is a multidisciplinary platform for investigating the geological, geochemical, geomechanical, and geophysical aspects of petroleum geosciences. The journal publishes high-impact, original research on both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon resources. The JPG encourages papers that incorporate new technologies such as modelling, AI-assisted interpretation, and machine learning in the context of petroleum geology. The Journal supports sustainable energy development, such as enhanced hydraulic fracturing, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and repurposing reservoirs for geothermal or hydrogen storage. The JPG also publishes case studies and review articles that demonstrate advanced engineering, production, exploration, development, and management of petroleum resources.
